Food ideas for an 80s party?

  • I'm having an 80s themed party for my 30th and I'm trying to think of food ideas. I'm trying to keep with foods popular in the 80s but stick with more finger foods. I know fast food and pizza was popular in the 80s (or maybe that's because I was a kid then? haha) but I want to stay away from too much junk. Any ideas on what I can serve?

    Nachos topped with beans, cheese, guacamole, French onion dip made with powdered beef onion soup. Garlic bread made with real butter, real garlic and fresh parsley, no cheese. I ate allot of carrot sticks and celery sticks with or without peanut butter. Fried chicken with no sauces, just jalepenos. Cheese and ritz crackers. Jello poke cake. I remember plainer fresh foods. You could try looking at some old cookbooks or magazines from that time. Maybe your Mom or grandma has some old books and recipes from then.

Canned cheese was popular in the 80's have that on crackers. Double stuff oreos, ritz bits and white cheddar popcorn came out in the 80"s and were a hit. Nerds candy was popular, how about the little single packages of them in a bowl. Cherry coke and Fanta soda was a hit. You can have cans of that at the party. Nachos and potato skins were big. Founde was a hit at parties and some restaurants. I remember people having a lot of frozen tv dinners and hamburger helper.
