How do homeless shelters work?

Is there any animal shelters where i can work at the age of 14 ?

I live in Toronto (Etobicoke) and i want to work at a animal shelter i am 14 years old. I love animals, also i have a dog. So is there any animal shelters that i could work at ?

I'm from MA, & most of the time you have to be 18 & thats just to work with cats. In order to worth with dogs you have to be 21. I think its completely ridiculous. But I don't know if it depends on different shelters of different state rules & what not. Anywho, good luck on your search!
