I did once, over 15 years ago, before the internet was around to tell me otherwise. Within 2-3 months the Guinea Pig had collapsed and died on the way to the vet. It was bullied. Fed the rabbit's food. I suspect died of scurvy. I was a kid and knew no better. It is NOT RECOMMENDED. These are two entirely different species of animal. They require different diets and if one eats the other's you'll end up with a sick animal and an expensive vets bills. A single kick from a rabbit, even accidental as rabbits do stomp when worried or scared, or kick up their heels when in a grump, one swipe of that can break a Guinea's back or kill it outright. Rabbits are also carriers of bordatella. This doesn't harm rabbits, but kills Guineas. Guineas are desperate for company, they need company of their own kind. If they try to snuggle up to a grumpy rabbit they could end up seriously injured. A Guinea has a good bite on it too. Please don't do it. Keep one species or the other, not the two together! It's like trying to keep a Bengal Tiger and Polar Bear together, the two species are that different!

its not recommended to keep a rabbit a g pig together as the rabbits are very strong animals and can injure pigs. I would just get a pair of female pigs as they are the best. rabbits like to chew up everything whereas pigs don't so much there also hardier than rabbits as they don't get bloat. I personaly love pigs and really don't like rabbits. I live with my Sis and she has a rabbit and he's a grumpy old pain in the butt. pigs are happier to sit on your lap than run around like rabbits do

I think you need to think about why you want to do this because it's not beneficial for either species. Rabbits an guineas both thrive with company of their own species, which communicate in the same ways they do. Guinea pigs chatter to each other which a rabbit can not do. Rabbits groom each other to express friendship which guineas can't do. Rabbits also hump to establish dominance which not only means the guinea may end up pestered but can also snap a guinea pigs spine. Guinea pigs have a totally different diet to rabbits, requiring additional vitamin C. Guinea pigs carry a bacteria which can be very dangerous for rabbits. Rabbits like to binky and run around using their powerful back legs, this has been known to accidentally kill or seriously injure piggies. While some people manage to keep guineas and rabbits together with no problems (before I knew better I kept one of each together) they are taking a risk and it only takes one second for it to go wrong. These people often claim that the piggies love the rabbits because they follow them around (this is what I believed!) but this is simply because guinea pigs find safety in numbers and feel more secure with the rabbit than on their own. To put a guinea pig and a rabbit together is like putting you in with a rhino for the rest of your life. You'd probably survive, you might cuddle up to the rhino when it's cold, but it's potentially dangerous and you'd really miss having someone to talk to.

They would be OK, but It's not reccomended to. The rabbits are very strong animals and can easily kick there hind legs and severly hurt the guinea pig just by accident. Also, they have 2 totally different diets and you can't mix their foods. If they are really good together, around the same size and introduced at a young age, I think they'll be fine:) P.S. While females are in heat, they will sometimes fight. Males will fight as well though. The best companionship of the too, is a male and female:) Good luck!=P

you can keep them together no one can stop you but dont keep them together they speak a different language, have different dietary needs and also guinea pigs can pass a disease on to rabbits that kill them. also one wrong kick from the bunny and its byebye guiena pig. its like putting a baby in with a 6ft person a wrong move from the big one could hurt the baby and also they cant communicate. please get a pair of guineas or a pair of bunnies. not one of each

Many people and almost all websites will tell you 'THAT IS A VERY BAD IDEA!', but in actual fact, they are very good together, I have had rabbits and guinea pigs together all my life, and they have been fine, you dont even need to raise them together to make it work, I normaly get a boy rabbit and a girl guinea pig. They love the company!! .......... Dont listen to what websites tell you! Guinea's and rabbits get on like cats and dogs, People also say dont have them together, but i have two dogs and three cats, they dont seem to mind. They all lay on the dog bed, soo cute :) Hope it goes well, they will be fine :) xx

Guinea pigs and a rabbits can live happily together in the same hutch. They'll keep each other company. It's a great idea to get the two together so neither will be lonely.
