If I'm allergic to cats will I be allergic to bunnies too?

Rabbits and cats, how would they get along? I'm moving and bringing my bunnies into a house with 2 cats.?

  • My dad had two 6 year old cats and my Fiance' and I have two 4 month old bunnies. We are moving in with my dad and I want to know if anyone has cats and rabbits and has any problems with them. I'm worried about introducing the bunnies into the household because the cats have been there all their lives and I'm worried they might attack the bunnies. Any advice would be great!

    generally, cats and rabbits get along fine and even can be great friends. many yrs ago I've had both with no problem but they were brought together. You and your Dad know the cats personalities, like are they laid-back or real territorial. If the latter keep bunnies in a cage/crate & see how the cats react. it may take some time but things should be ok. just take things slow and give the cats extra praise & attention to prevent them from becoming jealous of your bunnies.

My cats are wonderful with larger bunnies (they used to play and cuddle with my New Zealand), but view smaller ones as prey. Don’t force interaction between them and supervise them closely anytime they are near each other…you should get an idea of how much contact either appreciates with the other and go from there. :)

i would introduce one rabbit in a cage. if eyeing it carefully with hunger in eye. keep the rabbits in a room with door shut to the cats!
