Can I get my male rabbit a guinea pig friend? ?

I have a rabbit (dwarf lop) who is a male and he seems really lonely, I can't spend as much time with him as I used to but I let him out everyday but I think he is lonely! If I got a guinea pig maybe female just one would he be ok with it, I am unable to get another rabbit! Or would I have to get two guinea pigs? Like as a little friend for him? Any advice will be appreciated!! Thank you!! X

no you are not supposed to keep guinea pigs with rabbits whoever told you that you can keep guinea pigs with rabbits is wrong. pet shops assistants don't always know animals specific needs. A Guinea pig needs more vitamin c than rabbits and rabbits don't need as much vitamin c as guinea pigs basically you cannot give rabbit food to guinea pig and you cannot give guinea pig food to a rabbit. Rabbits can also bully guinea pigs and pass on diseases

No. Guinea pigs and rabbits should never be in contact with one another. They each carry germs that can be harmful to the other. I have guinea pigs my self and my roomate had a rabbit. When my vet found this information out, she admantly told me not to have them come in contact with one another. Honestly a fixed female rabbit would be your best bet. Rabbits do well in bonded pairs. I hoped this helped.
No rabbits and guinea pigs should never be keep together. First they have different dietry nesds and secondly a rabbit will bully a guinea pig. Rabbits can be quiet aggressive and have a very powerful back legs that can cause serious harm even death in guinea pigs. Guinea pigs should always be keep with at least one other guinea pig.
