Is there any possible way to stop animal abuse?

IS THIS ANIMAL ABUSE?

  • ok well im not so sure if this animal abuse but still its very annoying but remember these ppl are my friends their my age 9-13 anyways heres the story whenever i go to her house and go inside (which is rarely cuz her mom says "are house is a mess" and i TOTTALY agree...) the first thing i notice is the SMELL it doesnt smell like cats and dogs and watever other pet they have it smells of urine and poo i sort of gag but trying to stop cuz its rude.... and when i come in the NEXT thing i notice is the dogs barking they aleays bark but guess how many they have: 6dogs and 1 cat they had 2 cats but 1 died...they love their animals very much i can see that but a.thers too many animals and b. there in poor condition.... i'll explain about the dogs ok the only dogs allowed to run free of the house and never be in a crate are the 2 shepherd mix and the one great dane the other 3 are ALWAYS in a crate OR outside is this abuse they NEVER run around the house..and 1 of them a sheepdog NEVER comes inside no matter WHAT!! even in the rain he takes shelter in a little igloo dog house thing from petsmart but its old and has mud sand and water in it!! to make things worse the dogs dont get water everyday every OTHER day yes... and the only place the sheep dog can stay in the house is the garage when theres a tornado coming.... and the two girls have theyre own pet one of em 13 yr old is slightly retarded and the 9yr old is ehh ok...but the 13 yr old has a lizard (iguana) and it died from starvation she would feed it but if it wont open his mouth she forces it into his mouth she also for "fun" picks up the iguana by the tail shes careful not to break it though is this abuse?? is this abuse?? and if it is i mean how can i tell them their mom is WAY mean for me to talk to like that any help?? and i know 7 pets is way to many!!! but what can i do im only 11!!!??

    in my opinion that is animal abuse. having way to many pets for 1 is a bad thing and not letting them out of the cage is terrible and not letting the dog in? thats just mean. the house behind mine has a guy who leaves his dog outside ALWAYS even in hurricanes and bad rain storms. [we leave in florida so we get them a lot] and he leaves the leftover water from the rain for it to drink. we emailed animal control but no respones yet. GOOD LUCK! :P

These animals should be getting water and food daily. As for some of the dogs never coming inside... what is the climate like where you live? Does it snow? I know of a few people who live in the country and their dogs are outside dogs. I think that's okay, as long as they are able to have space to run around and a roof over their head at night. No dog should be in a crate 100% of the time. And they should be cleaning their house. That's more of a hygienic health issue to people than it is to animals. Call animal control and ask them what they think.

Okay, this sounds like animal abuse. Even if you're 11 - listen to me now - you can make a difference in all of these animals lives. I suggest you talk to your parents or a trusted adult who will help you get to the right place. Tell them EVERYTHING you typed on here, if it's what you see when you go there and it's true. Your local humane society, which your parents/adult(s) should contact, can help. EDIT: To who answered before me, it is not good advice to say she should confront the mother personally and tell her "you'll call the police". No way would I ever encourage an eleven year old to say that to a grown woman, especially when she describes her as "mean", and this is how she treats her animals.

I think that this is abuse if the animals are not happy and there space is dirty talk to your parents about it and ask them what they think. I am 12 and i HATE animal abusers I think that maybe you should get your parents to call your local humane society or SPCA good luck hope this helps

Okay, first. Be quiet, only 11 means nothing. Age doesn't matter. That is a form of animal abuse. They shouldn't have so many if they are unable to take care of them Call your local police station and ask if theres anything they can do about suspected animal abuse. It's totally anonymous. They'll send someone over there to assess the situation.

That is definitely abuse. It doesn't seem to be intentional but abuse is abuse. Tell your parents or a responsible adult that can help those animals.

you need to talk to her mom. dont think about what will happen to you, think about the animals. just go up to her, and tell her that they should start taking care of their pets properly or you'll go to the police

7 pets is not too many, if they are taken care of. In this situation it sounds like they are not. I would talk to an adult, a parent, school teacher ect. and tell them. It is abuse. It is NOT ok to not offer water to animals. However, unfortunately, it is not against the law to keep an animal outside. It is not ok though for them to be malnurished or kept in feces and urine or dirty. You need to tell an adult you trust and they can call the cops or the local animal shelter they might know a dog officer to tell and they can help. Good luck
