How to build a dog house?

  • i live in house with my brother, grandma, and dad, and we have a problem. Before my dad me and my brother moved in and after my grandpa died, my grandma lived in a house full of dog poop. she's already not in good health and the fesces made it worse. So after we moved in, me, my dad, my brother, my aunt, and a handful of other family members cleaned up the house and took out the old carpet. Afterwards we moved in a new clean carpet so she wouldnt have to breathe in the stuff. We have 4 dogs at the moment and even though i love them its bad for everyones health to breathe in their poop. At one point in time they began to scratch at the front door to go outside to poop and we'd let them, but for whatever reason they stopped (and yes we did try to get them outside to use the bathroom) and began to use the bathroom randomly around the house. We have some wood lying outside on the patio that we never use and me and my brother decided to build a dog house and make them outside dogs, so we can clean the house and have it stay that way, the dogs prefer outside to inside anyway but when it comes to urinating or so they want to do it in the house, and we think this is the best way to resolve one of the main problems in the house. I would like to move and teach the dogs about using the bathroom outside, so that way we can atleast start out with a clean house, but the current house is the only house my grandma's known for 30 years. I know this was a long read but i would like to know the best way to make a dog house for 3 medium sized terriers and 1 chiuaua The dogs like outside and we dont like their poop INside so we figured why not. We have the wood (obviously) hammers, nails, the works. but we just need instructions. i appreciate any help given.

  • Answer:

firstly, measure how big your dog is in height, width and length with a tape-measure remember to add 2 inches on for room with the width and add about 6 inches more to height for the front and back wall, write down on paper the dogs height without the 6 inches. Then, mark with a pen marker on the tape measure where you want it to be on the wood. Do this with the height (without the 6 inches) for the length and just add a inch on.Make sure the left and right wall are equal because you will have un even ends and you want them all to be accurate then cut them. Afterwards,When you have done that measure the dog's height and width again and add a inch on either way and dot/mark out using a ruler and pen marker on the front wall (adding a inch on) making sure it's accurate. then join up using a rule and a pen marker like a square or rectangle shape right to the bottom for the enterance and cut out. Finally the roof, get the paper with the dogs height on and measure it on the front and back wall with a ruler/tape measure and mark, then draw a line across ----> (that way). Make sure there accurate. the line should be a guide to make the triangle shape for the roof then mark out and then measure the wood for the roof and drill the nails in it...and join all the wall together :) i hope you understood all that, sorry if you dont lol! goood luck! :D
