Is something wrong with my ferret?

My ferret needs help, theres something wrong with him?

• My ferret will pee and poo outside of his pan even when its not dirty. The pan is large enough for him and is in a corner of his cage.He even goes to the bathroom under his water bottle. His new thing is peeing on one of the shelves and licking it up!!!! What is his problem?????

  How old is your fert? How long have you had him? Has there been any major changes in his life? Has he ever peed or pooped inside the litter box? Initial potty training starts by you taking some of the waste, putting it in the litter pan and leaving it there. This will tell him what the box is for and therefore he will use it. I have four and one was only paper trained, wouldn't use the box at all until I covered every bare piece of floor and shelving with bedding. I use old t-shirts for bedding, they're washable in case there ever is an accident. Then I watched her for a while after they all woke up. As soon as I saw her back up and her tail stick up I'd grab her and put her in the potty. Of course there would be lots of praise, a treat and then playtime. If he's acting normal otherwise and he's eating and drinking I wouldn't think there is something wrong with him, but of course a call to the vet can never hurt. It's just hard to find a vet that is an expert on ferrets around most places.
