How do I convince my parents to let me get a ferret??

  • i know its a while away but i want a ferret for Christmas but the reason I am asking now is cause i want to work up to it. does anyone have any ideas on how i can sway my parents to say yes or something to show them i am ready. I am willing to take on responsibilities for the ferret. thanks

    Hey Chris! My advice? Bring them to the pet store and let them hold/watch the ferrets. Me and my brothers just got 3 ferrets on Sunday, and I love them. My mom wasn't a big fan of ferrets, she called them "ugly rats." (even though they aren't rodents) But, once she saw how actively they play, and how cuddly they can be, she let us get 3! Let them know how responsible you will be, and tell them your have researched absolutely everything about them. But, on your part, please please please research every aspect on owning a pet ferret. Grooming, diet, housing, medical things, training, behavior, EVERYTHING. Owning a ferret is more work than you might think, but if you are willing to do all the stuff that is nessecary, they can be amazing pets. And, if first comes to worse and that doens't work write an essay. Yeah i know, sounds wierd. But, it works trust me. If you have any questions on owning a pet ferret, or anything please let me know. Start by becoming more responsible for the things you have now. Show them you are getting more mature by doing things (like household chores) without being asked. Keep your room clean. Start saving your money. You can ask your parents for the ferret and then tell them you'd like one for Christmas. Don't act like a baby if they say no. These are just some of the things you can do. Do you have pets now? If you do make sure you pay lots of attention to them and take care of them (feeding, cleaning, watering) without having to be told to. Get a book and read up on ferrets so you'll know how to care for them. Get lots of info on ferrets.
