Is my freshwater angelfish is sick?

Unplanned parenthood: Freshwater angelfish.?

  • I came home today to see that a couple of my angelfish have mated and decided the best place for their eggs was on the intake tube of my aquaclear 700. any suggestions on ways to keep the lil guys from becoming filter food? it's a 35 gallon tank with 3 medium (not even a year old yet) angelfish and 5 bleeding heart tetras. it seems that my black marbled angel is a male, and the two females are a silver with black stripes (the one he chose to have babies with) and a yellow and white. (just guessing that the yellow is a female, isn't getting a hump on it's head like the marbled one)

    A sponge prefilter http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/203833/product.web , or a piece of old aquarium net - brine shrimp sized openings, not the size you use for catching fish - or a piece of nylon hose tied over the intake is all you need. Turn your filter off and gett a sponge filter or go to your pet shop today and get a replacemnt filter tube. Either solution shouldf work. You only have a day. Gently put the one with the eggs on the bottom of the tank. If you have a filter tube in sections, and the eggs are on the bottom section, do the same thing and wrap the large filter uptake hole witha woman's stocking. Also you can temporarily detach the filter tube and put some fine mesh tocking inside as a blockade. Put the filter as far from ther detached eggs as possible if you can.

move all other fish out so that you can make less water change and let them breed their itself don't distrub them but buy a sponge filter after fry's come then you move them to other tank and get the other fish back to your main tank

Turn the filter off til they hatch... remove the babies when they hatch (what you can find) if you want them to live. Put them in a ten gallon set up til the parents can't eat them.
