What fish could I put together?

I have 2 seprate sexes of betta fish and when I put them together the male attacks the female what should I do

  • I think the reason why he attacks her because even though he tries 2 (flirt)mate with her she still won't mate won't mate with him so he rams into her what should I do? please help me?

    Throwing the 2 fish together is not how they mate. The male has to make a bubble nest and the female hast to be swollen with eggs before you introduce her to his tank. Male Bettas are AKA Siamese Fighting Fish. They are solitary fish. They mate and then kill the female. That is their nature. They are meant to be alone, so DO NOT keep them together.

You should have them in separate bowls because betta fish can not stand one another and if you left them together for to long, you will notice that one is missing.

Are you trying to breed them? If not then you need to seperate them unless you have a very large tank with plants and alot of hiding places. Betta's are very aggressive and need to have their own space. Even while breeding. So you should remove one of them into a different tank so they will not be harmed.

put the fish into seperate bowls and put them next to each other then they both wont get hurt!
