What type of fish is this?

What is a good type of fish that swims in schools, and eats small fish like cloud fish. NO PIRRANAHS!?

  • I really want to get a new type of fish instead of guppie fish. I already have a huge tank for my cat fish wich ive had for 5 years

  • Answer:

That depends on how large the tank is. You could do bala sharks, silver dollars, pacus...though all require a school of 6 or more and the balas and pacus require VERY large tanks.

Barbs, tetras are the two that will work for you. Figure 6 or 7 per species. Make sure they are compatible. Here is a site: Real good one. Fish descriptions, compatibility, etc... http://tropicalfishandaquariums.com/index.php

Kouneli is right beware the pacing and bala for a lifetime they'll need a couple hundred gallon tank! But it really does depend what size tank you have! Without that info its hard to tell you which is best!!

It's hard to recommend any schooling fish without knowing the actual volume of your tank. If you've got a 100 gallon, you can maybe get some discus if you're feeling adventurous.
