How do these fish sound for a 29 gallon?

Getting a 29-gallon fish tank. Suggestions?

  • My dad said we might get a 29 gallon fish tank in the living room, yay! It will be a freshwater tank. What are some good fish I could keep in there? By the way, I have my own 10 gallon tank in my bedroom with a few guppies, dwarf platies, and ghost shrimp, so maybe something a little different than this? I also have a betta tank in my room too. So the bottom line is this: What are some fairly interesting and not-that-hard to keep fish that will live well in a 29 gallon tank?

  • Answer:

in a 29 gallon you could do a few schools of small tetras with some schools of cory catfish as well. a tiger barb tank. but dont put a lot with them as they tend to be bullys. for fancy goldfish you could keep two in there just fine. they need 20 gall. per first fish then ten gallons for each additional fish. they grow to a good size too and live very long if taken care of propery. they are pretty easy to keep too. you could also do a livebearer tank with guppies, platies and mollies.

tiger barbs

Trunks

I would go with. 2 Gouramis (Dwarf, Gold, Blue) 5-6 Tiger Barbs (fin nippers, schooling fish) 5-6 Zebra Danios (schooling fish) 5-6 Minor Tetra (can be fin nippers, schooling fish) 4-5 Black Skirt Tetra (schooling fish) 2-3 Algae Eaters 2 Cory Cats Pictus Catfish Not all of these fish can fit in a 29 gallon tank, but these are some easy-intermediate fish to take into consideration. Good luck!

Angels, maybe- they are really pretty with their long fins and different colours. Or you could make it a coldwater tank, with one goldfish! There are lots of options, you should do some research! Hope this helps! Good luck!

I have a 20 gallon tank and wanted a lot of different and colorful fish, so this is what I have now: Yellow Gourami Dwarf Gourami (blue and pink stripes. really pretty) Marigold Molly (orange, red and yellow stripes) Leopard Danio Black skirt Tetra Lemon Tetra Corydora (bottom feeder) 2 plecos (algae cleaners) Red Swordtail Female Betta Orange Platy My fish are all either really colorful or really interesting to watch, I'm very happy with all my fish, this is my first tank and everything seems to be going well after 2 months, so I would try a few of those.

Getting Closer......

Get a group of Dwarf puffers . These guys are colorful and Vibrant in color. Dont require TOO much work just testing pH ammonia ect, the best part is there not too expensive and can live exellent with a group of 6 tankmates (other puffers) together in a 29 gallon tank, just dont mix breeds

-Cichlid Temptations-

I got a 29 gallon too.. I have 6 cherry barb 6 white cloud and 5 corydoras catfish There are really good... I also have chiclids (in seperate tank) but i really want a tiger barb.. there really interesting, so get a tiger barb!!
