Where can I get a fish cleaned?

I cleaned out my fish tank with soap how do i get the soap residue out?

  • Is there any thing i can do or will i need to get a new tank for my fish i will be getting in the future. Is there still hope for my tank?

  • Answer:

That's a very good question Rinse out your tank like 10 times with hot water and get the special clean solution especially for fishtanks from petsmart or petco and clean it again with that. It should work, but never clean your tank with soap again Good luck

Yes, there is hope! YOu just have to wash it out with hot water untill you can see no signs of soap in there!!!! then to be safe clean it out one more time. It sounds like it will take for ever but it dont! no more then 30 min. but you should dry it also when you are done, that will help.

I would rinse it out a for a long time in hot water, leave it to dry fill with water and put activated carbon in your filter.

Get a sponge that you haven't used with soap and scrub the tank thoroughly with hot water. ~ZTM

I suggest using an algae cleaner with warm water to remove the residue. That should do the trick. After that you should consider a filter to keep the water fresh.

I would clean in with pure water, then towel dry it off. Then fill it up with water, and leave it there for a day. Then empty out the water, then put water in again and let it stay there for a Day. Then towel it off dry. I would repeat until you are sure there is no more soap residue. Good Luck 2N!$H

It should be fine as long as you rinse it out and allow it to dry.

LuvinLife

You want to continually rinse it out with water many times and then let it dry, and rinse again do this about 20 times, while also scrubbing the aquarium with a coarse sponge. hen that is done I would set everything up and have it run for about 2 weeks, with the gravel and plants and anything else. then buy some cheep fish and have them test it out for you. If they die in a few days, you know why, if not the tank is clean and ready for more.
