Are catfish colorblind?

Is there any breed of catfish that can live in a 10 gallon tank?

  • I have a 10 gallon cycled tank and It used to hold my 1 oranda goldfish but i upgraded to a 30 gallon and moved my goldfish there and now have a empty 10 gallon, I have changed all the water and its planted, AND FILTERED! but what breed of catfish can live in a 10 gallon, or is there? If i did get a catfish it would live alone, with another catfish of its breed or possibly with 3 male guppies. If not a catfish, can i keep a different type of bottom feeder like a pleco? I am just very fascinated by catfish.... Please answer, im desperate!!! thanks!!

  • Answer:

Get 5 cory cats, or if you want the number larger look into pygmy or dwarf cories.. you could probably get away with 10... Also go ahead and add some fish to swim around up top... Say like... 5 cory cats and 4 male guppies... something like that.. Corydoras Hasbrosas is super tiny...

plecos are all to large for a 10 gallon. why not a shoal of cory catfish, or otocinclus catfish?

Pleco can get very big for 10 gallon. I would just get a Cory cat. They basically grown to the size of you guppy slightly shorter. They don't require much. Just a bit of food and their fine.
