What tank is better for my betta fish?

What fish would work with a male betta in a 10 gallon tank?

• I know that there are a bunch of fish that can be housed with male bettas like zebra danios, neon tetras, cory cats, platys, etc. But what do you reccomend? I'm going to setup my 10 gallon tank again but this time I'm going to put a betta in it and i would like to know your ideas for other fish for the setup. I saw a video on youtube with a 5 gallon tank and he has a crowntail male betta 7 neon tetras, and 4 ghost shrimp, in a 5 gallon he's using an aquaclear 20 though. So I'm going to be using a aqua-tech 5-15 gallon filter so could i do like a male betta, 3 cory catfish, and like a school of like 5-7 cardinal tetras or neon tetras? I like cardinals but neons get a bit smaller and are more available and cheaper i think. Open to other ideas though for fish???? Also is a 50 watt heater good for a 10 gallon tank? Thanks, Frodo98

  I'd recommend a small school of Galaxy rasboras or Blue Cloud mountain minnows. Both remain quite small and low bioload. Blue clouds are a better choice than the regular white clouds if you can find them, as these are actual tropical fish and will fare better in the warmer temperatures that bettas require. Some shrimp tank mates wouldn't be a bad addition either, such as ghost shrimp, or cherry reds. Pick larger cherry reds if you decide on this shrimp.
