  • i bought salt water hermit crabs at my beach club for 25c and i only got a little bit of salt water. if you put salt in water does it make salt water

    Do not use table salt! Your crabs will die. Go buy "sea salt." The kind I use is in a blue can and has a whale on the front of it. Most drug stores carry it. There are directions on the back on how to mimic salt water found in the ocean (how many parts salt to how many parts water.) Good luck.

Well there is a difference between sea salt and consumer salt. Sea salt is basically just Fish waste and other garbage, so im not sure.

Don't use table salt. the iodine in it will kill your critters. Go to your local fish store and ask for aquarium salt. you can also buy ready made salt water there as well.

if you put salt in water sure it will make salt water but not salt water sutible for fish or crabs in your case...

If you live anywhere near the ocean, go get the water from there. I collected water from a river in my backyard for my freshwater fish. You can also buy salt water or buy salt made to make salt water. Not table salt.

Look up the ratio of salt to water that is necessary for their survival. Also, you may want to use distilled water rather than chlorinated water because it may be harmful.
