Can fish really feel your stress when you are fishing?

What kind of fish is this?

• So, this is my parent's fish. All they told me was to water the plants and feed the fishes while there gone. So I did. Until a rough storm came and power was out. When power came back on the machine that produces the bubbles for the fish to breathe wasn't working. The fish looked like it was about to die, so I moved him into our other fish tank that we had until I got a new one. I did and then I put him back into his own fish tank. Well then he started having white cloudy deteriorating stuff around his mouth.. and it just got worse. I guess he got a fungal infection or something, so I went to the store and bought some Maracyn...but it didn't work and he died. Found out it is probably due to the stress from moving him from 2 different tanks that his immune system weakened, plus poor water quality. ( Which is true because I don't know the first thing to do on how to clean a fish tank and wasn't ordered to do so). So, now I feel bad since this fish was in my care and wanting to purchase another one for them..problem is, I don't know even know the name of this fish. What do you guys think?   She got a bacterial infection on her mouth, likely from the stress and improper water quality. It appears to be a flowerhorn cichlid.
