Why are shrimps not kosher?

Are these shrimps matured yet if they have no colors yet?

  • i asked some questions about this before but i did not get a specific answer. my shrimps i just bought today dont have any colors on its transparent body except for a stripe from its head to its tail. this pattern is suppose to be the common pattern for malaya shrimps which i just bought. they should be in alot of colors like green blue black white brown red and i heard young shrimps are transparent but mine is quite large like a adult already but dont have any colors. one had orange colors and the other had blue on its tail but the other 6 dont have any color except for stripes. will they get it when they moult or when they grow older? is it that all young malaya shrimps are like this?

  • Answer:

compare their size to size of an adult. many shrimps vary in coloration, and are selected for specific traits. because of that there can be several color varietes within the same species. You might as well get scammed, and were sold feeder shrimps instead of the color variety. quite a few shrimps only show the perfect coloration when not stressed.
