How do you care for sea monkeys?

• Are they any fun? How do you filter their water? My mom wants to get them for my little sister and she wants a red-eye tree frog or a ball python. She said she thinks sea monkeys are boring. Does anyone think they are fun pets?

  Sea Monkeys are not fun. The only thing I use them for is to feed them to my fish! You can use a sponge filter in their tank, and when doing water changes, do it in the dark and shine a flashlight at one side of the tank. The sea monkeys will go to the light and then you can siphon at the other side of the tank. Ball pythons are super cool, but they can get 5 feet long. So, you may need to check with your local animal control people to see what the length limit is in your area. In my area, the limit is 3.5 feet (but they still sell ball pythons in pet shops... guess they don't grow?). If she likes the amphibians/reptiles maybe she'd like a fire belly newt. I don't think your mom likes the idea of having a huge snake that you feed frozen rats to in your house. However, you shouldn't really touch salamanders or frogs because you'll mess up their skin.
