What african cichlids are easy to breed.?

  • I want some cichlids that are easy to breed, i got some african cichlids from walmart but they died... of coarse... so ill need some advice on how to take care of the parents and the baby fish.

    convict cichlids are very easy to breed. put them in a tank with caves, and a couple weeks later you will have 100- 200 fry!!!. females have an orange spot on there body, males don't. convicts are the best parents by far. I keep my fry in with the parents tell they are about a month old, then i move them to their own tank. the fry will eat crushed flake food. i feed the parents 2 times a day, in the morning and at night. also its a good idea to do a water change every week or two, 20-30 % water. try to keep the water temp closer to 80 f, this will help with the breeding. my tank is at 78.

I m too. here r some of my best collection of african cichlids- *Electric Yellow (A popular, bright yellow moderately peaceful fish) *Shell-dwellers (there are several species given to this name. You should read up on them as they are very interesting little fish that can live in a large colony in your tank) Mainly the special care that cichlids require is good clean water through many frequent partial water changes and a quality diet according to whichever species you have. Most thrive on a variety of meats and vegetable-based foods. I really hope this helps!
