Need help keeping Shiners alive in a bucket?

  • Im going to this store 5 minutes away fromy my house that sells live shiners, I am fishing in a lake right behind my house so the drive isnt a big deal. The thing is I only have a bucket and dont have a live well and I need to keep the shiners alive for atleast 2 1/2 hours + in the bucket. Is there anything I can do or buy to keep them alive longer? I cant spend a whole lot of money. Do you think they will be able to survive in a bucket for 2 1/2 hours +? Help!

    Buy a simple battery powered aerator. They are commonly sold in bait shops. This will keep the water oxygenated until you can use them up; in which case 2.5 hours isn't an exhaustively long time in the bucket.

Well get an portable/battery air pump so the fish will not die. Cause that will produce oxygen.
