Fish Parasite Problem?
-
Ok, so I think...no...i know my fish have a parasite of some sort. What kind no idea. Let me describe the tank. I have a ten gallon tank, normal filter and heating system. So, I've had 2 fish in there for the longest time. What kind, I can't remember. They were kept in my room, where I never really was, so it was generally dark or dim around them. About 2 or some odd weeks ago, I thought it would be nice to move them out into my living room. So they were doing good. Just a little stressed with the sudden brightness and I also cleaned the tank when I moved them, so it was clean and bright. Besides a lil stress, which I cured with this chemical mixture **** I had from awhile back, they were great. But, anywho, I went to PetsMart to buy some more fish finally to brighten up the tank. Now, they are tropical-non-aggressive fish, so I went and got some more. I got about 5 more fish. All non-aggressive. Again, sorry, I don't recall what type. But once I put them in, all the fish were co-exsiting peacfully, I began to notice after about 2 weeks that one of my original fish, had gotten white spots and **** on his fins. They looked like bumps. I looked this up and found a picture that looked identical. I read about it and my source stated that they were 'Itch Spots'. Why fish have itches and where its name comes from, I have no clue. But all their recommendations for quick-relief. I had already done. I added some blue Quick-Cure **** in hopes that it might help. Nothing. In fact. It spread to other fish. I began cleaning the filter constantly. I'll jump to the chase; all the fish died except the very first one that got it. His fins look awful and I feel so bad. His fins clearly look eaten away at. The white **** is mostly gone on his fins, but I fear they're on his insides. All the fish were past their warranty, so no refund. What can I do? Right now I took out the filter and added more quick cure. The fish is really slow and he seems close to death. I just kinda want to go to PetsMart and tell them that they're evil fish gave my awesome fish parasites. Btw; the fish thats left is named Pete. Just incase you need to reference him. Please help. I'd like to at least salvage my last fish.

Answer:
Poor baby. I see you love your fish. I know this may sound dumb, but would you consider taking him to a vet? Ich is very easy to cure, it should not have killed your fish. You should clean out the whole tank and get a different type of medicine. A stronger type. And look for an aquatic vet. Oh, and Ich is not a parasite. It is a bacterial infection.
