Is it possible to catch fish in a swampy lake?

If I Catch A Fish In A Lake Can I Put It In An Aquarium????

  • i was wondering what if i caught a bass or a catfish,even a bluegill all less then 4 inches...do you think i can put them in my tank with some cichlids(oscars,,jack dempeseys,texas) tank is 60 gallon and my fish are all small.....but will they get some kind of sickness from a fish from the lake. let me know please..i apreciate it... charlie

    Make sure if you do this to quarantine your catch in another tank specifically setup to quarantine fish in. I have a buddy back east with a 210g tank and he has a Chain Pickerel, 2 Yellow Perch, 1 White Perch, and a host of feeders in there now. You will want to quarantine him for about 30 days. Evaluate his/her progress over that time, and so long as you do not see any signs of fungus or parasites (many different types - look them up for symtoms) then I would say go for it, but remember - these are game fish you are talking about - not ornamentals. They are use to feeding themselves and feeding on other fish. You could wind up with some problems mixing them up like this. Personally I keep natural tanks (no ornamental fish).

You can do anything you want give it a bath before u put it in with your fish the cat fish may eat all your tank fish they would be yummy to a catfish.

Well i don't think it well be a probable, But i don't think you should put a big fish in with smaller fishes cause the big fish might eat them. pluse you have to getthe water at the right temperture and have the right food for those kinds of fish. but i would try it and see what happens. and let me know if it works cause if it does i can get me a fish with out the money.

my ex's dad put a small bass in their fish tank and they had some gold fish and some of those fish with the big bulging eyes. Well the bass ate the eyes out of the other fish then as it got bigger it ate everything in the tank. Also I've been to a guys house that caught a small cat fish put it in a 40 gallon tank with some drift wood he pulled out of the pond that thing is huge now and the water stays murky. You can't see the catfish until it charges your face and smacks the glass. It has eaten everything he's put in the tank including two small catfish he caught a year later.

I caught a flathead catfish about 5 inches long in a net, put him in my 55 gal tank, and hes doing great, hasnt eaten any other fish, and i have a lot of small fish, no problems for me
