Were would I get a pet fruit bat?

I would like to find a pet fruit bat that is young soI could tame it down a little. I would let it fly around by using a bird harness. I could let it sleep in a cockatiel cage and fly around during the evening and some at night.

You are making a foolish mistake here. Bats are not able to be pets. Their needs are beyond anyone's ability to care for. A cockatiel cage???? They hang upside down in dark, close places not in a cage. Do more research and you will see this idea is bad, bad, bad.

They probably aren't any for having as a pet. Most rescues contain animals reliant on animals, but I think you have to have a permit to own wildlife like that. No petstore I know sells them, and it would probably be very difficult to find a breeder. ANd they probalby wouldn't make a good pet anyways, they need lots of space to fly and need a varied diet that people probably can't provide.

Sorry bats are wild animals and not meant to be kept as pets..if you live in the US it would be illegal for you to have one in your possession. If you like bats..put up a bat box in your yard to attact them, and enjoy them in the WILD as they are meant to be.
