Help! is fafsa.com a scam?

Parrot scam? PLEASE HELP!?

  • I am looking to buy an African Grey Parrot. I saw an advert saying 6 month old congo african grey parrot for sale £200 and I contacted the advertiser. I have been sending emails back and forth to this selling - his name is Chris Bobby. We have spoken on the phone briefly too. but a few things are worrying me about the information I have been provided and the price he is asking for seems TO GOOD TO BE TRUE?? Could this be a scam, I dont know?! The advert stated he was based in London, however since I have been in contact he said to me that he now lives in Scotland (I am from Southampton). - He clearly isn't english as his grammer is terrible. - and when I asked for pictures, he sent me some he copied from google and renamed them the names of his (supposed parrots!) He has said to me that if I provide him with my home address he can organise a pet courier to deliver the parrot to me and I pay the full price of £200 to the courier on delivery! Ive read about parrot scams, but what I dont understand is - if this is a scam how is he going to scam money from me if i dont pay anything until I have the bird in my hand??? My sister thinks its a scam and said I need to walk away now... Please tell me what you think?!

I wouldn't buy a pet until you see it for yourself. Just start looking elsewhere.

Your sister is right it is a scam and becoming a very common one. There is no parrot . I would advice you to contacting your local police as this crime is becoming more and more common . These are organised criminals gangs doing these pet scams.

poodle power

He's slowly reeling you in. Once people are committed they can end up giving things like bank details and other personal info which the scammers can then use. Something may go "wrong" and he will need some cash up front. Scammers have patience and hope other people don't

It's probably dead and nailed to its perch.

I think you should take your sister's advice and walk away

I have come across this scam with dogs before ,eventually you are asked to pay for the courier beforehand and guess what no animal arrives. Funny but they all say they are based in London or whatever town you are looking at ads from but for some reason have moved to Scotland ,usually when you ask if you can come and collect the animal they tell you that you are welcome and give you a location that is in fact some remote hard to reach scottish island which you obviously will not be able to visit. And very often they are not English ,probably have never set foot in the UK
