How to care for wild baby bunny?

How do you care for a wild baby bunny?

  • So a few days ago i rescued a little baby bunny. He is still very tiny but has fur and his eyes were already open. I have been feeding him a certain type of milk that is apparently very good for young rabbits without a mother. Anyone else have any info or personal experiences? I just want to make the bunny happy so if there is anything i need to do or buy that i havn't already i would like to know.

    Need to take this bunny to a wildlife rehabber in your area and let her raise and release him when ready. She or he can also check for any health issues it may have. it may be old enough to be on it's own as they are very small and young when leave the nest. Look up on a web site what and when to feed it. Also keep it warm and in a stress free enviorment. Do not handle much as the stress usually kills the bunny before anything else. Bunnies are one of the hardest wild animals to keep alive and rehab. Please for bunny sake bring to w.rehabber it is free. good of you to help it though. :)

I would contact a vet or see if there is a local wildlife rehabilitator in your area that could give you details about raising the bunny. You don't...the bunny should have been left where he was. Female rabbits only come back to their young a few times a day for very short periods. Young wild rabbits also wean very young. If the baby is not weaned your chances of keeping it alive are next to nothing turn it over to a wild life rehaber even then the chances of it surviving are very slim. It it is weaned put it back outside where it belongs. In the future leave wildlife outside where it belongs.

I once found a baby bunny in my backyard... He was so cute and small... I kept him for like 3 days, fed him... until my parents made me give it to a vet - turned out it's neck was broken. :( I couldn't tell, but the vet could. You might want to take it to a vet and just see what they think you can do for it.

Well if you're gonna keep him you should take him to the vet, just to make sure he doesn't have ticks or mites in his ears (We rescued a baby bunny when I was little and he ended up having them). That way the vet can tell you things you should do so he can live healthy and happy.

Keep it warm with lots of blankets. Rabbits/bunnies/hares hate the cold. Keep the place you keep it very clean, as they can also get sick easily. After it develops teeth, you can let it out in your yard, they mostly eat grass.

no ideaa baby bunnies make me sad....my cat killed 1 well he inured it and we took care of it and it died overnight and i was so sad i wanted 2 keep it badly or atleast 4 it 2 get better...it made me sad,but thats ok.it was 2 or 3 yearrs ago.= ]

First of all, this is the bird section not the bunny section Second, just take it to a vet or put blankets on it to keep it warm. Bunnies are so cute!

Keep it warm and don't make too much noise.Try a electric blanket or regular blanket a towel if you prefer.Keep it somewhere dark also.
