Duck poop or chicken poop, and why is it red?
-
Ok so we have 2 indian runner mixed ducks (male and female) and some just regular old white hens. I went out to get eggs today and i noticed some orangish reddish poop. I know this isnt normal unless theyve been eating a variety of things like fruit and such but as of right now they are confined to just the coop as their run is being modified, so they get chicken feed and chicken feed only. I just want to know if this is anything to be alarmed about or if once in a while they just have a few red poops ^_^ thanks

Answer:
Ducks will eat anything . If thre is any kind of trash around they will eat it even if the trash is not obvious. We once found in a duck that wandered around the yard a couple staples,a glass shard ,some nails and a small piece of chicken wire. So even if you think all they eat is chicken feed , you may be mistaken. They even eat rocks. If it fits in the bill --it's gone.
