Do the Doug Hannon fishing snakes work well underwater?

I wanna work with snakes. Anyone who are good with snakes, PLEASE READ!?

  • I'm 15. I'm hopefully going to work at Chick Fillet. They let you work there at the age of 15. My neighbors are to old to get there own mail, so I get there mail/paper. I make $7.00 a week from that. I have house chores where I get $5.00 a week. So $12.00 a week. If I work at Chick Fillet, I'm assuming I'm getting minimal wage, which is $7.00? So bottom line is, I wanna breed snakes. I love snakes. I'm buying a Ball Python. And I'm going to raise it for about 6 months, to a year. Then get a female Ball Python, let them mate. I wanna get a shed or small area, to get more snakes. I'm from Pennsylvania, so it's very cold here in the winter. I want to get cool snakes like - Blood Pythons, Hognose, Ball Pythons, Copperheads, Green Tree Pythons, and possibly Rattlesnakes. I don't know what snakes you're aloud to get in PA. So could you tell me what kind? I know you're aloud to have common snakes like Garter, and Corn snakes. I mean coolish, non pet snakes. Like Green Tree Pythons, and Copperheads. What will be the requirements to get a shed, or place, to put my snakes in? Just please give me as much details, as possible. That I can look back at this, in a year or so, and get advice. My parents are real bussy a lot, so this would help. Thank you so much people. It means the world to me.

  • Answer:

Pennsylvania has some of the most lenient reptile laws in the country. Everything is legal except for endangered species. You can own venomous snakes and crocodilians including alligators. No permit is necessary for any of these. However, your city may have ordinances against some of these, so check those. With that said, venomous snakes are not for beginners and you should wait several more years before you even consider getting one. Stick to harmless snakes for now. If you're going to keep them in an outdoor shed, it needs to be well insulated and climate controlled.
