Hermit crabs died of weird disease?

all 3 of my hermit crabs have died and the fist one died like a week ago and when he came out of his shell his soft sqishy tail looked like white cotton I thought it was natril couses but then today I noticed the other 2 were died and had cotton like tails now I am goin to get more but I'm just wonder should I clean my tank and how to prevent this diseas again
