How do I know whether my ball python is pregnant?

My ball python has not eaten since Novbember, how do I know when he is ready to eat again?

  • I have four year old ball python, which I got last September. This is the first winter I have gone through with him, so I don't really know about his past eating habits. But I know that ball pythons are irregular eaters and that stay pretty much dormant during the winter. But how do I know when to try and feed him, I'm going to try and feed him this weekend but he is still acting sluggish and inactive. Should I wait untill it gets a little warmer? And I live in upstate NY, so its still cold, and yes I keep the cage at 80 degrees with 75% humidity, I can assure you it has nothing to do with his living environment, and I keep him in a 55 gallon.

  • Answer:

in activeness is common with ball pythons but you can try to introduce the food at anytime. im sure he will eat.

Other answers

try to feed him... if he doesn't eat don't try again for a few weeks. They can take some time to become "active again" and just continue this... if he isn't eating soon lets say in the next 8 weeks you may have a bigger problem.
