i agree, you cant keep wild animals, now for your feeding problem, go to the pet smart buy some meal worms, and some crickets, if its hungry, she will eat! if you find a roach outside or some other bug, give it to the lizard, before you release the animal, takeit to the ve, just to make sure its healthy, if it aint the animal might die.

I'd feed it......TO MY CAT!.......why not try mealworms, though, and/or crickets. Most lizards will eat both of those things.

Its not a Gila Monster by any chance is it? I want one of those :P

You don't. Release the poor thing and if you're really that desperate for a pet lizard, research the kind you can get in a pet store or from a breeder and then BUY one. You're going to kill the poor lizard if you don't put it outside!

we have 2 northwestern fence lizards that came out of the woods for over 6 months and they eat mealworms first and foremost, theyll eat small earthowrms, crickets, shelled bugs, millipedes, flys, etc...good luck and keep them a good light, some trees and rocks and plenty of water

If you're not willing to identify it, then I'm not willing to puke up care sheets for every lizard species. Sorry.

The proper protocol when dealing with any "rescued" or "found" wild animal is to place in a secure cardboard box with some paper towels for comfort. Do not attempt to feed it as incorrect diet can easily lead to death of the animal. Take the animal to your nearest wildlife rescue center. If you don't know of one in your area, find Wildcare on the web and go to their website. They have a list by STATE of where you can take a sick, injured, found, lost, abandoned, wild animal. The keys to remember: *Keep the animal secure *Do not feed *Do not give water (its fur may get cold and it may suffer hypothermia) *If you can't take it to a wildlife rescue center right away keep it isolated away from noise, people, pets Hope that helps. If course if the animal is not injured or sick and you know where it was found the only sensible and legal thing you can do is go and put it back.
