Is it "a pair" or "a pairs?

I have two pairs of leopard geckos and want to introduce the female from one pair to my other male?

  • OK i have 1 pair of leopard geckos male and female and we noticed that our male needs another female so he isn't stressing out the female. so we bought another male and female pair and want to introduce the female to our 1st pair. so last night i put her in the cage with our 1st pair and the male was waving his tail and like courting her but then they began violently biting each other. I didn't feel comfortable with this so i removed her. In the new female & male pair the female is dominant over the male she is fat and he is skinny i think she doesn't't let him eat. so maybe that is why she rejected our other male because he is dominant? any advice would be great

  • Answer:

I don't really know why the male is skinnier than the male. BUT I do know that your female that you put in the enclosure with the other male & female is this. The male was doing to your new female of what we call "Love Bites". Love Bites is when Leopard Geckos mate, the male grasps the female by the neck with his jaws. This can lead to some superficial wounds on the females neck. As long as they are not deep, bleeding heavily, or infected, you should not worry about them. I hope my info helped you & don't freak out! It's supposed to happen.
