How can you tell if a baby has pneumonia?

RES swimming funny...I fear pneumonia. Can't go to vet for variety of reasons. Help! Anything I can do?

• We have had some construction going on for a few days, which has had our front door open (created a draft). One of my turtles started swimming funny this afternoon. I can't tell whether GI problem or pneumonia. Husband just started new business, construction is from major leak, christmas is upon us, and we just had a new baby 3 weeks ago...I can't afford the vet right now, but obviously don't want Franklin to die. Any suggestions? I have raised water temp by a few degrees already.

  The vet is your only answer. There is no home remedy for pneumonia. Unfortunately, part of pet ownership is the part about taking care of them when they are sick. You might be able to find a vet that will allow you to make payments but usually they won't. You might just have to forgo Christmas gifts for each other in order to take care of your turtle.
