How to take a good care of a sea baby turtle?
-
Hi everyone. Yesterday I've got a sea baby turtle. She's 2 weeks old. Very tiny. So sweet. I've got a small tank for her as well, and a heating lamp, I've also got the food that they usually eat, but she doesn't look happy at all. What should I do? I've never had a turtle as a pet. So I have no idea what to do, honestly. Maybe I should get a mate for her what do you think? So she doesn't get bored... Any ideas will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Alright i saw the video and dont worry, i can assure you that it is not a sea turtle. Turtles are not social animal, thus dont worry. We can never tell if they are happy or not. I get what you mean by it does not happy, as in it is not active as you want it to be, am i not right? This is due to it adapting its new enviroment and getting used to everything around it, including you. And trust me, in no time you will find it an active little creature who seems to have no fear at all. What should I do? Dont worry, you dont have to do anything more other than giving it food. It might not start eating immediately but give it some weeks or so and it will. Soon enough, you will realise that it will start to beg you for food everytime you walk past. If you would like, i would suggest that you could buy it some live feeder fish for it to chase about. Maybe I should get a mate for her what do you think? There is no need to, unless of course you are prepared to buy a much bigger tank as these turtles grows relatively fast, and get ready seperate them once they get bigger and could become aggressive towards one another.

If you've got a sea turtle in your possession, you are in violation of federal law and could be arrested and thrown into jail for possession of an endangered or protected species. My advice to you would be to either contact your local Wildlife agent and tell them that you found the turtle,or if you actually live near the ocean, take the turtle back and let it go in the water. Edit: No one really knows what baby sea turtles eat!

Sea Turtle? Do you mean an endangered sea turtle? That's the only ocean turtle I can think. And those are endangerd and illegal to own.

Sea Turtles are an endangered species. Are you sure that's what you have? Or do you mean an aquatic turtle? Turtles aren't social animals, so getting another one wouldn't make her any happier. You need to specify the exact type of turtle for anyone to help you with what equipment you may be missing from her tank that could be causing her to be lethargic and whatnot. If you really do have a Sea Turtle, you need to release it back into the wild or call a wildlife preserve because it's against the law to own one.

first Sea turtles do NOT stay small... a adult the size of half your palm is not a Sea turtle. Aquatic turtles yes.. and that vid clip reminds me more of a baby snapper and is most certainly NOT a sea turtle. they do NOT have feet they have flippers you either need to corner the lady who sold you the turtle and find out exactly what species she sold you. Find a knowledgeable herp vet to ID it..( try a zoo).. Or do lots of looking on Autsins turtle pages

Okay...it's not a sea turtle. That turtle is a MALE (note the longer tail--females will have a short tail so the male is able to breed without interruption). Without seeing a close up of the head I'm unable to tell the type. With the way that it goes after your cat I would say a snapper but i"m not for sure. Also your tank for the turtle should include land and water. This turtle needs to be able to come on shore and sun bath and reach a certain temperature to digest it's food. Reptiles have to reach a certain degree before the digestion process can happen; if not the food could rot inside of it's stomach. There are multiple types of turtle food out there. I personaly would take the turtle with me to the store and asked someone for help. You should also make an appointment with a vet raising reptiles is a whole nother ball game then a cat or dog. They are very high maintenance animals.

I suggest you do allot of reading..Read up on what it eats and TAKE IT BACK TO HER TOMORROW! They are highly endangered sea turtles, and l wouldn't want to get caught with one the fines and $$$$ you would be charged if not jailed. I'd turn the lady in....NOW! Try this site for help on turning her in***http://www.anapsid.org/reslider.html ""Austinsturtlepage.com’ has all info on care and feeding for all land and aquatic turtles.
