Why wont my turtle wont open his eyes?and he isnt eating the food im giving him. i just got him?

He's in turtle heaven. Put him in a little coffin and flush him. He should have been left in his natural environment and you could still be visiting him there.

you should leave the food in the tank for about 1 hour, and clear the tank again. you can't leave the food in the water, whether it eats it or not. weeks later it'll get used to it and it may eat food from your hand. =) don't worry, just make sure he is warm and put rocks and water in the tank for it to swim, and rest. =) by the way, where do you keep your terrapins? in a tank or an aquarium? an aquarium would be better, but mine is kept in a small tank, their doing fine!

I'd take him back to the pet store you got him at. If he is dead... they should give you a full refund!!!

If it is a baby it probably won't open its eye till about 3 weeks. Or if it an adult it will probably just be sleeping, Or in shock, depressed or maybe very ill. Go see a vet.

If it really is an emergency the first, quickly fill up your bath tub, put him in it, he could be dried out! If you can try sticking little fish like baby gold fish in there with him, that will encourage him to eat, Then if that does not help he could have a case of I can'[t remember what it's called but take him to a vet, or a pet store where someone knows alot about reptiles. I'm sure he'll be okay so don't worry too much. Remember to keep it warm though, that is thier natural climateGood luck. Lol, it's also winter time though, well in the us anyways, it is very likely that he is hibernating! Oh listen to jduck1979, he knows what he is talking about.

It sounds like he is still in schock He needs time to adjust to his (or her) new environment...

he may be in shock, suggest you keep him really warm and just leave him alone for a day or two.
