What kind of job can a 14 years old teenage get?

Is it possible for me to get a job with animals at 14?

  • Well, I'm a huge animal lover, but only 14 (turn 15 June 7). Could I get a job at this age, working with animals? And if so, what kind? I live in Louisiana, and a dog walking job or pet sitting job would be out of the question b/c no one around here really cares about their dogs. I live in a subdivision, and so there are bunches of dogs who just run around loose... I have a hell of a lot of experience with dogs. I've read and learned from books, shows, and I still watch 'The Dog Whisperer". I've recently read his book and am planning on getting his DVD... both DVDs. I've been learning about dogs for about 2 1/2 years now. But anyway, please tell me there's some kind of dog job I can get at 14 & make a bit of money, so I can pay for my own things. (P.S. I'm NOT working at the shelter b/c the workers there are rude and turned me down on 2 dogs already for very stupid reasons, and they obviously don't care about any of the animals there.) -_- & I'm homeschooled with lots of time to spare

    Yes. Check out your local animal shelters and pet groomers. I use to walk shelter pets and i know some high end pet groomers need shop keepers: cleaning up hair and so on.

You said you don't want to work at the dog shelter because the workers there don't care about the animals? Well why don't you work there just so that you can actually care for the animals and so they actually have someone that does care. You might not like the people, but think about the animals.

at 14 I don't know if you could.... BUT....You can try asking your neighbors how have dogs, if you could walk them or watch them if they go away for the weekend,for a little money. Try that first. Good luck

Ask a few people around your neighborhood if there are jobs you can do. Maybe working on a farm, cutting grass, taking out trash, cleaning. There are so much stuff you can do you just need to get out there and ask someone if you can help.
