Poll: Do you own a popular breed, a rare breed, or a mixed breed?

  • I'm curious of the breakdown of what dogs people own on Answers. So, here's my poll. There are seven categories for dogs, based on their popularity and if they're purebred. Write how many dogs in each category you own. Please put your poll answer at the top of your answer. If you want to say more about your dogs, please do so after the poll results. For example: Most Popular Breed: 2 Mixed Breed with Unknown History: 1 Here we go. There are seven categories: 1. Most Popular Breed 2. Very Popular Breed 3. Slightly Popular Breed 4. Less Well-Known Breed 5. Rare Breed 6. Mixed Breed with Known History 7. Mixed Breed with Unknown History The first four categories are defined below. Basically all AKC breeds, based on popularity and registration stats. I've also added the American Pit Bull Terrier since that's a popular breed without being AKC-registered. It's in the same category as the AmStaff. Rare breeds are any purebreds not listed.

7 Mixed breed with unknown history. Heck I don't even really know how old he is. Shelter baby. Nope tspencer- a peekapoo is not a breed you have 6. mixed breed with known history. It is a pekingese and poodle mix. Sara- the AKC changed the name of the jack russell terrier to the parson russell terrier- so you have 2. A very popular breed.

I have an Ibizan Hound-cat4-less well known breed I've had two dogs cross the rainbow bridge- A Boxer-cat1-most popular breed- and a Whippet-cat2-very popular breed I love them all.

6.5 : mixed breed with some known, some unknown One of my dogs is part lab, part cocker spaniel, and part lots of other things. My other dog (her puppy) is the same thing, except more unknown, and you can't see the spaniel in her at all.

Very Popular Breed-1 I have an 8 month old Shiba Inu. It is listed in your question as a very popular breed, however in my area I would consider it a less well known breed because 1 in 25 people have ever heard of the breed and less than that can identify the breed when seeing them. We have seen 1 other Shiba puppy in our area (we take her to Petsmart, Pet Supplies Plus and/or the dog park every weekend.
