Here is a Questionaire that was written up by J Johnson regarding breeding. *IF YOU CANNOT ANSWER 90% OF THESE QUESTIONS (MINIMALLY) THEN YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO BREED* Breeding involves, the Conception, the gestation, the aftercare of both the ***** and the puppies and ensuring that the ***** is caring for the puppies. What is a studmaster and when should they be used? On what attributes is a stud dog selected? What health testing should both the dam and dog have prior to breeding? How old should a dog be before he is used at stud? What are the responsibilities of a stud dog owner? What are the important contract items to have in a breeding contract? On what grounds should a dog be neutered? What diseases can a dog get while being bred? When should a dog be allowed near an in season *****? How does the breeding actually take place? Does there need to be a tie for a breeding to have taken place? What is AI and when should it be conducted? Who should conduct the AI and what specific precautions should be taken? Some of these questions can have several different answers depending on the breed, the area, and the breeder. I'm not a breeder either. They are things to consider in breeding quality animals. My issue is that the first part is directed mostly towards conformation and less towards performance. I'm more interested in performance IE hunting dogs.

Wanna Know what I am thinking??? Why? when you can adopt a just as good dog at a shelter. that needs a home. there life is ticking down each minute they are there. They have a death sentence. So I think RESCUE RESCUE RESCUE. GOSH Breeding what for??? There were 6 million dogs put to death last year alone. why bring more into the world for looks and money? There are extremely good dogs needing a forever home and a life.

To long. I say let them mate, they've been doing it for centuries, the must be doing something right. I'm not going to pretend that i'm a expert its just my opinion. I personally like knowing theres people like you who take all these things into consideration :)
