Can superconductivity be used to repel water?

How can I get the spray on bandage out of cat fur?

  • While I was away, I had someone watch my cat. Long story short, the cat somehow got injured by getting a cut on its butt cheek, and this person (who I will never leave my cat with again) used spray on bandage stuff on the cat to try to fix the cut. I'm sure they meant well, but on a long haired cat, not a good idea. The hair has matted to this spray, and its close to the skin. I tried to wash it off (warm soapy face cloth) but it didn't do anything but repel the water. I thought about giving it a bath, but this cat turns wild when it gets near water, so I'm don't want to try it unless I know for sure it will help. Do you guys have any idea how I can get this off the cat without hurting it or making it worse? Please don't tell me to take the cat to the vet. I really don't have the money they are going to charge me right now. I blew it all on my childs surgery (that's why I was away and left my cat with my stupid sister). Wish I had the $100 minimum the vet would charge, but until payday, which is a week and a half a way, I'm broke. I called around, and none of the ones in my area will take the cat (including her regular vet) unless the bill is paid at the time of treatment. No, my sister wont pony up the bill, either.

  • Answer:

cut the fur as close to the skin as possible. its probably best if someone holds the cat extremely still and just take your time making sure not to cut the skin. if you dont want to do that try brushing the fur little by little making sure the cat isnt too uncomfortable with it. cutting the hair is your best option though. i hope everything goes well and your sister learns some common sense for the future

Just cut your cats hair off with scissors really slowly. Wait till your cat is asleep. That's happened to my cat too, but she got gum on her fur....let's just say it was a huge mess.

rub some peanut butter on the sticky fur and let it set for a few minutes. Wipe it off with a warm cloth. For some reason peanut butter breaks down the sticky stuff. Don't worry if kitty licks it some, it's not toxic. If that fails you may need to clip the fur. If the cut doesn't start t heal or if it gets infected, a vet will need to treat it.

Ohhh, your sister? Wow. Hmmm, the only way to get the bandaid offs by shaving the area, it may look stupid but it works. If you don't like the bald spot, then you could shave the whole cat :/
