WHY do cats feel the need to watch you clean out their litter box?? -read more-?

Cats mark their litter box as their personal territory. When you clean the box they often see it as an invasion and keep watch to make sure that everything is okay. Many cats will go into the litter box as soon as you finish cleaning it, to "mark" it again.

.... Does your cat also come watch you in the bathroom? I've often peed with an audience of 3 cats!

They have sense of property, they have their own territory and objects.

Lol. Thinking back my cat done this too when I kept him inside.

mine did because right after i was done cleaing, he would go to the potty, cause it was clean.

My younger cat likes to watch so she can hop right in soon as I'm done and use it. She also likes to watch me do anything around the house though especially in the kitchen. She is like a curious little kid! lol

i never figured this out yet! mine will watch me clean it, then as soon as I'm done, run in and use it!! as if he likes it dirty(HA HA):)
