Can anyone recommend a scenic country drive to take around the area south of London?

Has anyone shipped a cat from the UK to the USA - People who have shipped the cat, NOT traveled with the cat.?

  • There is a one eyed cat somewhere in the UK who DESPERATELY needs a new home - see the question at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090728103625AADwaXz The Asker posted the same question twice, here is the URL of the second one http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ajs08dhX7G6UFRfyzbBEME_ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090728113816AA3yjdX This cat is forced to live on the third floor of the home with little if any contact with the people and --- well, read the question for yourself. We are in the USA and if the cat were on the USA mainland, I would be making arrangements to get it to us. I would either drive to wherever the cat is or contact a lot of people I know around the country to see about setting up a "Pony Express" transport where multiple drivers would drive short sections of the route to move the cat closer and closer to its new home, step by step Since the cat is in the UK and the Atlantic Ocean is between the USA and the UK, I can't very well drive there to get the cat. I am now trying to find out how much it would cost to have the cat shipped from the UK to us here in the USA. Has anyone ever shipped a cat from the UK to the USA? I know that many people have traveled with their cats and have taken their cats onto the aircraft with them, but I need information from people who have shipped their cat as cargo without accompanying it on the aircraft. If the owners of the cat cannot or will not take the cat to the airport, I need a company that will pick up the cat and take care of getting it to the airport and on its way to the USA and, will, hopefully, have people at this end to take care of entry requirements - which for the USA are very straight forward and easy to take care of. I need to know approximate prices, names of companies that do this sort of shipping, and anything else you think would be of help to me and anything you would do differently if you had to do it again. Please help me figure out how to move this cat from the UK to the St. Louis, Missouri, USA area. Thanks in advance. Bob

  • Answer:

Yes and you are looking at around $1000. The original question is not one to take seriously and there is no reason a one eyed cat couldn't get adopted in the UK. Cats Trust, wood green or Blue cross would have no problem. I know several cats with one eye (& I have one myself) and they have no ongoing problems and if the Vet did a decent job they just look like they have one eye closed. I think the OP was a child or maybe brat would be a better description.
