  This REALLY varies, not just from city to city & state to state, but from vet to vet w/in each city. Call the local Humane Society if you do not have any veterinary referrals, they should be able to steer you towards an inexpensive vet. SOME charge you just for walking in the door, plus shots etc. Others only charge for actual services rendered & there can be a long check list of services rendered. -------------------- Example... my vet charges $100 for teeth cleaning, but thought that I might find that a certain vet that specializes in animal dentistry cheaper. I called to get their prices & was told minimum was $250. And I'd have to take time off work on top of that because they are located even further from my house/job than my regular vet. I have heard $300 quoted for spays in Florida (includes required over night stay & pain medication), I am in Texas & pay under $100 if there are no complications - no overnight stay, no pain medications,
