Kitty's Birthday Treat Question?

  • My cat's first birthday is coming up and, taking the advice of another cat owner, I decided to make her a kitty "cake" made up of chicken, turkey, shrimp, tuna, salmon and sardines. All ingredients will be chopped finely and made into a "cake" shape. My question is whether or not these ingredients are okay for her treat. Keeping in mind that this will just a one-time thing and in small quantities. The meats are lunch meat, the tuna and salmon are from the pouch. The shrimp is fresh and the sardines are canned. Thanks

    Hi, Someone said that tuna is not good for cats??? Why do they put it in EVERY can cat food and biscuit then!? Anyway, I think it's a good idea. I know that if you change their diet, you must do it gradually, so just keep that in mind. Cheers and good luck TT

Processed foods intended for humans could cause pancreatitis. It's probably not the best thing for her to be honest. Canned tuna fish is not good for cats. Tuna in cat food and cat treats are specifically designed for cats and most of the time its just tuna flavoring unlike canned tuna that is for human consumption.

A one time treat like this will NOT hurt your cat. At worst, she may spit it up because she's not eating her usual food. And congrats for being such a sweet cat mum. : )

Sounds good if it is a one time thing, Happy B-day Miss Kitty! Just don't make it a daily habit using lunch meat or tuna! ;)

Sounds Grrrreat. But leave out the tuna. Theres something in tuna thats not very good for cats.
