How to get rid of a swollen eye due to a cut?

My cat has a tumor on his eye and I can't afford to get it surgically removed is it safe to cut it of at home?

  • I just came home from holidays and found out that the small scratch on his eye had developed into a tumor, the vet said it was not a cancer tumor but it still has to be removed, I don't yet have enough money for the vet to remove it, but my dad told me that another qualified vet told him that this sort was common in white eyed cats, and you can remove it at home with some sterile scissors and something for him to keep him calm. (the tumor isn't on the eye ball itself, but the pink fleshy bit on the inner corner of his eye. His tumor is also inflamed an pusey but is not cousing him pain or irritation.) Please help I just want my little Maxxie to be all better!!

    Absolutely not!!! If you do you'll injure you cat even more. Even if another vet said it would be fine, I'd wait, get the money and get a vet to do it for you. This way you know it is done right and safe. If your cat means a lot to you, that would be the better decision.

Refusing to give an animal proper vet(medical) care is the same as abusing it. What you are planning on doing is abuse and needs to be reported. You and your dad are both jerks and does not deserve to have any species of animals. Not even a fly or ant. Take your cat to the local animal shelter and turn it in. At least it may have a chance of get a home with some one that cares.

You'd probably kill it. It needs to be sedated and you need to be able to keep it clean which you wouldnt be able to. Imagine of someone sliced a tumour off of you without sedative!

LOL. I didnt even bother reading the description. the title was enough... Is it safe to cut my cat's eye out at home? Hell NO! unless you happen to be a vet with the day off.

No dont you dare do anything like that,take it back to the vet and ask if you can pay what it costs by installments if you love your cat you will find the money
