How do you get water out of you ear?

How do I get water out of my cats ear?

  • He likes to get drinks out of the sink, and gets water in his ear.. Now he`s constantly shaking his head, and scratching his ear.. I need help, on finding a way to remove the water from his ear. thank-you

    Take a soft cotten ball and carefully swab the inside of his ears. He will shake out the rest. I worked at a vets office and gave hundreds of baths. Thats all we had to do.

I'm with Tim Tim on this one. My cat does the same thing when he has ear mites, and even if I can't see the black granulars, my vet can. Three days after the medicine he will stop itching, but you CAN'T clean out their ears for at least another week, because the medicine stays in the wax to kill the eggs once they hatch. I use revolution now, and it works GREAT. Gets heart worm and fleas as well, all in one little tube less than 1/4 the size of my finger, just apply to the back of the neck, and you're good for a month. :)

are you sure it's water and not ear mites? is there a black granular substance inside the ear? If so then it's ear mites and you have to take him to the vet and get ear drops, if it's water, then it's possible to put a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in his ear, the hydrogen peroxide will dissolve the water, although I imagine your cat will flip out once you do so b/c of the constant bubbling noise it creates. Best bet, go to a vet and have him checked out just to be sure.
