One of the more bizarre biological attributes of a female cat is that she can get into heat while she's already pregnant. In fact, her ovaries are stimulated to release more eggs as soon as one male partner witdraws, so that a single litter of kittens can have more than one father. Cats are also capable of carrying two litters at the same time at two different stages of development.
