Will online shopping still work?

Shopping for Home Theater System. Will any system work with just t.v. as well as DVDs?

  • May be a dumb question, but I've been researching it and nothing gives me the answer I'm looking for. We want the system primarily for just plain old cable tv shows and sports and not necessarily for watching DVDs. Will any system do this?

  • Answer:

Pretty much. If you can connect a DVD player, you can connect a TV to the stereo or home theater system. However, some HTIB systems may have a built-in DVD player and may not offer audio inputs, so make sure what you're getting. The real cheap home theater systems will have limited inputs so beware of these. _ _ _

Most older tv programs are in mono or stereo sound which makes a home theater system useless all you would need is a stereo set up, amp and 2 speakers but if you are going to watch dvds then get a hometheater set up

First is how much you want to spend. If its for TV I would get a a/v receiver at Best Buy or Circuit City. Then get some speakers for it. Dont buy home theater in a box. This way if you want the radio on you can have good sound when you turn it up. With the receiver , if in the future you want to run your DVD through it you can. You have to ask yourself, Do I want quality or junk.
