Answer:
Don't be so concerned with how much wattage a receiver claims to have, you can have a lower powered receiver that can actually deliver more current and more peak power then some higher wattage receiver's. Also the amount says nothing about the quality of power your getting. I would first strongly suggest going to your local independent high end audio video store, as they carry the better brands of speakers and equipment, and the salesmen at these stores generally have many years experience designing better systems for their clients. Also don't be surprised many of the higher quality brands maybe from manufactures you have never heard of. You can read more about them in some of the better trade magazines like Perfect Vision and Stereophile. There is a huge difference in the sound quality of stereo equipment, so if you do a little homework you will end having a much better sounding system that will give you years of enjoyment. For one thing you are not going to find any sub woofer than can produce the 15 HZ in the market. Most human ears can not hear below the 25 HZ. I recommend you look at the Pioneer or Onkyo receivers and for speakers look at Definitive Technology, Energy, JBL, Infinity, Klipsch and Polk Audio to name a few. You can go online to home theater magazine and read the reviews on receivers and speakers. I have used Pioneer Elite and Onkyo receivers for well over 30 years and never had any complain. For speaker I current use Energy, JBL, Infinity, Klipsch and Martin Logan. Go to the nearest retail store and demo them with your own source of music and listen to one song only on each that you like. Let your own ears be the judge. Hope this will help you out.
