Surround sound problems?

Im having problems with my home surround sound system - Its got a mind of its own!?

• I hooked up my new Goodmans surround sound theatre system a couple of days ago as an early Christmas present and it was working fine :-). I watched a couple of crackin films with it on - then all of a sudden I come to turn it on today and it works for about 2 minutes, then there is no sound out of the speakers at all. I turned it off then back on, and again there was normal sound, and then all of a sudden it went quiet after about 2 minutes. I have tried turning it off and on about 5 or 6 times and it comes on with normal sound then after approximately 2 minutes it decides to go quiet and not work! I have checked the instructions which are all fine and its plugged into the wall on its own. It is showing the sound is still working through the systems box but yet no sound comes out of the speakers every time after 2 minutes!? What could this be - your help is very much needed!!   Since your problem repeats AND it affects all of your speakers (not just one) then there is an electrical circuit short inside your reciever caused by either the chip that controls the audio is overheating and shuts down or there is a physical short in the motherboard that expands when the the board heats up. If the unit is under warranty I would return it and get another unit.
